Audie Alcorn
School Director
Audie has taught for over 15 years in lower elementary (1st-3rd grades), upper elementary (4th-6th grades), and middle school (6th-8th grades), at independent, Montessori, and public schools in Houston and Austin, and also served for two years as Co-Associate Head of School and Head of the Math Department at a private school here in Austin. He also founded and led ATX Tutoring & Academic Services, from 2017 to 2024. His formal teacher training includes an Elementary Teacher Diploma from the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota and an Adolescent Montessori Teacher Diploma from The Prepared Montessorian Institute. Prior to his career in schools, Audie worked as a ranger in the Division of Education & Interpretation at Zion National Park in Utah; as an editor for Great Potential Press in Arizona; as a buyer and assistant team leader for Whole Foods Market in Austin, Houston, & Denver; and as an auditor with Price Waterhouse in Dallas. He has three college degrees — one in Accounting and two in Philosophy — and was a member of a weekly-performing improv troupe for four years while attending the University of Arizona. Audie lives in south Austin with his partner Colette and cat Mixi; his stepson Noah is 17 and is attending his first year of public school as a high school senior. Audie’s creative/spiritual pursuits include practicing Kaiut Yoga, studying chess, listening to music, riding his e-bike, and participating in the ManKind Project.
