Lori grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education. Since then, she taught Kindergarten and 1st grade at Austin Discovery School for three years with a strong focus on student driven projects and Social Emotional Learning. Additionally, Lori spent several summers as a counselor for young girls at a holistic, outdoor summer camp in California called Camp Augusta. Lori joined the WLLC team in 2019 as the Lead Mentor for the Sapphire class.

Lori loves creating a magical environment of song, wonder, and a genuine love of learning with our class community. She is never far from her guitar as a folk singer-songwriter, and she enjoys co-writing educational music with her students. As an avid nature enthusiast, outdoor education plays a huge role in her lessons. She’s always excited for fun, growth and learning adventures!
